NCDGC Scorecard
North Calais DGC is a private course covering about 20 acres in the Calais highlands. Starting as a Frisbee Golf nine-hole object course in 1990. NC played to the front yard swing, trees, posts, and finishing with the dog-hole (tee from the garden, across the back lawn and into the doghouse, and it has to stay).

North Calais DGC is built on what has turned out to be a special piece of land for a disc golf course.

By August 1991 we were playing 18 raw holes to post targets on a course 3700 feet long. Over the ensuing almost three decades the North Calais Disc Association has lengthened the course progressively, fine tuning the balance between difficulty and fairness. Today, North Calais plays almost 7900 feet from the gold tees.
Targets have gone from posts to posts-with-a-white-painted “strike zone”, to the hated plastic/plywood/chains “bucket holes”, to today’s Tajmaholes. There are 4 sets of tees now for all but the shortest holes. Blue, white and red tees play 90%, 70% and around 50%, respectively, of the gold tees distance.
DC has elevation changes, water features including a rare type of fen and plenty of distance offering two par 5's, including the 962 foot hole #4. Don’t be fooled, long drive opportunities are few and when they appear, the shot must be spot-on in order to take advantage. NC has been described as a tight, technical course disguised as a long bomber. The roughs are punishing, steep slopes on many of the greens encourage dreadful roll-aways, and there is OB on 11 of the 18 holes. Current course par is 65 and the SSA is estimated to be 63.
The current course record, 60, was set by Cale Levieska during a tournament round without chains on the baskets!
