North Calais Workday, June 15th

Good morning Friends of North Calais - a reminder that our Workday is this Saturday. We plan to start at 9am at the barn. We will be finishing the course cleanup for the first mowing and a little majestification on the side. We've also got a 2 yd load of stone and plan to do some tee work. Currently the forecast looks like sunshowers and we may be able to do a burn.

Bring gloves, loppers, round-point shovels, iron rakes, tamper if you've got one (we have one but could use another one or two if we have a good crew). Don't forget fly/tick dope, LIGHT-colored clothing, etc. The fly hatch peaked Thurs and Friday and was burning out yesterday, but the showers coming may bring more hatches.

Please come out for this party - cleanup has been slow-going this spring, with typically 3 or 4 of us on Tuesday nights, and with Skip Season upon us we're losing Al. If we can pound out a good jag of work Saturday we'll be able to play more this summer!

Tack sa mycket, Ole

It was a great workday! Seven NCDGA members and two young men who are strong candidates for membership put in a good jag of work - tee pads all raked, nine of them received a top dressing of stone, 15 bridge deck planks were replaced, a couple of big trees were removed, the course was mowed, and hole 16 was shortened, straightened, and majestified. Amazing what a group of guys with a will to work can accomplish in half a day. Ole says "Tack sa mycket!" to all who showed their commitment to NC.
