Course in development at Crown Point, NY

Hey all,

My father, Sky Yardley, is working on putting in a course at the Crown Point State Historic Site, literally just across the Crown Point bridge from VT (you can see Vermont from the course!). It is still very much in development: not all holes are cleared, and he's still working on tee & pin placement.

He's looking for disc golfers of all abilities to come down and walk the course/throw discs with him and give feedback about the holes. I walked it with him last week, but he does need someone to check it out who drives farther than 200'. :)

Any GMDGCers up for a day trip? If you're interested, call Sky: 802-279-9565. There's definitely swimming/boating/fishing options at the course, too...

I've always thought that would be a great place for a course. I'll definitely be in touch.

I agree with Andy, this is a prime location for a scenic course. I'll be passing through the morning of August 12, and I'd be happy to lend some thoughts.

Hey!!!! Super psyched to hear this... just left your father a message at the number in the first post. I live in Ticonderoga and would LOVE a course in CP... that is an amazing location in every respect... it will be a great course to learn disc control in the wind! :)

Please let me know where this stands and what I can do to get involved.

Yes, I will be back in the area soon as well Daner. I'll give a call and see if we can get a couple people there or appraise where we are at!

Sky got back to me and we walked the course yesterday. It looks great! The design does probably still need some tweaking but it seems like a great start to me. Additional eyes would be great! I'm hoping to get out there soon and make some measurements and hole layout sketches to review variety and RH/LH balance.

Just an FYI that there are 13 baskets in place at the campground in Crown Point just over the bridge the other 5 holes have posts to mark where they are. We don't have a map yet and there aren't good tee markings but if you want to give it a try some time let me know and we can try to sync up so I can show you around.

Still working out final tee locations for the three sets of tees we intend to have.
