Chris young Owner of Disc Golf Vermont

"Welcome to Disc Golf Vermont!

I would first like to thank Matt Marro for designing the DGVT logo. Cory Barron for building the website and dealing with me on a daily basis. Without them this would not be possible.

If you need help with a project please send an email to info@discgolfvermont.com and I will get you in touch with them.

For me, the game of disc golf has always centered around community. Meeting new people, enjoying the outdoors, making our communities a better place and travelling to a new state or country. This is the core behind DGVT.

My goal is to build relationships to provide opportunities for Vermonter's to get outside and enjoy our beautiful surroundings. The Vermont landscape gives us an unbelievable canvas to take a walk in the woods with friends and play disc golf. From the shadows of Jay Peak to the maple trees of North Calais, I hope you will join me in taking advantage of this great sport in our great state.

In 2003 when I moved to Eugene, Oregon, I fell in love with the game of disc golf.

One night, I happened upon a league in which world champions Avery Jenkins and Dave Feldberg were in attendance. I Immediately fell in love with the sport and the people. That point forward I have had the chance to play disc golf courses and events throughout the United States and Canada monthly.

After living in Oregon and Colorado for 9 years I found myself back home in Vermont in 2007. It was at this point that I started to not only play but help run events and grow the sport here in Vermont.

I became the leader of our state wide club and worked very hard to spearhead one of the most successful Ice Bowls in the country raising $100,000 for Vermont food shelves.

I have designed and built several courses in our community. Taught several summer camps and after school programs for kids. Built relationships with sponsors and partners and now find myself taking the next step forward, which is Disc Golf Vermont.

You all have provided memories and happiness in my life and for that I am forever thankful.

I want to thank everyone in the Vermont disc golf community who have supported me over the years.

Not too long ago I started thinking about the future and how I wanted to spend my time and provide for my family and the answer was very easy, I wanted to do what I loved.

With that I would like to introduce to you, Disc Golf Vermont!"
